Demolition over water needs containment as much as force, so floating silt curtains and debris booms stay in place while the structure comes apart. Treated timber, concrete and steel are separated on the barge and disposed of at facilities licensed to accept them, and the bed is checked afterwards so nothing is left behind to foul a propeller or a future build.
