Salvage is planned around what is in the vessel as much as the lift itself. Fuel, oil and batteries are dealt with first where they can be reached, with absorbent booms deployed around the site to contain any release. Once recovered, hulls and debris are broken down on land and separated for recycling or licensed disposal.
